The Faculty of Education of The Chinese University of Hong Kong ( has a longstanding legacy in teacher training and is known for its world-class research excellence. The Department of Educational Psychology under the Faculty of Education ( now invites applications for the position of Professor/ Associate Professor/ Assistant Professor in Educational Psychology. We are especially interested in those with expertise in one or more areas below:
- School psychology
- Special educational needs
- Educational neuroscience
- Artificial Intelligence (AI) and human-technology interface
Applicants should have (i) excellent academic qualifications including a doctorate degree in educational psychology or related disciplines; (ii) a solid research background in areas that will contribute or add to the existing strengths of the Department; (iii) a strong track record of programmatic research and publications as well as proven ability to obtain research grants; and (iv) strong commitment to excellence in teaching and scholarship.
The appointee will (a) develop and teach courses at postgraduate and undergraduate levels, (b) supervise taught and research postgraduate students, (c) bid for external competitive grants, and (d) assist in administrative matters. Scholars with demonstrated academic leadership, research excellence, a track record of extramural competitive funding and substantial experience in postgraduate students’ supervision are particularly encouraged to apply.
Appointment will normally be made on contract basis for up to three years initially commencing from August 2025, which, subject to mutual agreement, may lead to longer-term appointment or substantiation (that is, tenure) later. For candidate with outstanding research/ scholarship credentials and very good teaching/ service records, substantiation may be considered at initial appointment. Salary will be highly competitive, and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
